Bitcoin cold-wallet attack hits 4,500 addresses with losses nearing $89 million
Galaxy Research has flagged a third wave of attacks on Bitcoin cold wallets tied to weak keys generated by Coldcard devices, with the attacker now targeting smaller balances and changing how funds are collected on-chain. Total losses are approaching $89 million across more than 4,500 addresses. Users with old Coldcard-generated wallets are advised to move their funds immediately.
