1.43-million-year-old footprints at Lake Turkana reveal unknown human ancestor

A team of paleoanthropologists discovered a series of fossilised footprints in Kenya, on the ancient shoreline of Lake Turkana, dating back approximately 1.43 million years. The prints were left by large, bipedal creatures whose exact species identity remains unknown. The find offers rare direct evidence about the appearance and behaviour of early human relatives from that era.
