Chrome's Manifest V3 switch: some extensions will stop working on 31 August

Google Chrome is switching to the Manifest V3 standard, which will block older Manifest V2 extensions from working from 31 August onwards. Despite alarming reports, the change did not take effect on 1 August — the real deadline is 31 August. Users relying on certain ad blockers and privacy tools may be affected if those extensions have not yet migrated to the new standard.
