LatAm-FINGERS trial shows lifestyle changes may prevent dementia

The LatAm-FINGERS trial, presented at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference in July, enrolled 1,200 participants aged 60–77 across Latin America. It is the first culturally adapted lifestyle intervention trial aimed at preventing cognitive decline in the region. Rather than treating dementia after onset, the study targeted risk factors such as smoking and physical inactivity, with participants reporting life-changing results.
