Medieval Dewins Castle in Żary to be fully renovated for the first time since 1945
The city of Żary has signed a contract for the comprehensive renovation of Dewins–Bibersteins–Promnitz Castle, a ruin dating back to the 13th century that has been abandoned since a fire in 1945. The project is backed by the Ministry of Culture and aims to boost tourism in Lubusz Voivodeship, Poland's least-visited region, which attracted only 700,000 visitors in 2024.
