Megafire near Athens: "Dead animals on roads, everything burned"

Greece is battling large wildfires for a second consecutive day. A fire dozens of kilometres from Athens has grown so intense that Greek media are calling it a megafire. A Polish resident in Athens described dead animals lying on roads and total devastation. Hundreds of people fled the flames to nearby beaches.
