UEFA pushes for FIFA reforms after Infantino's privatisation plan collapses
FIFA president Gianni Infantino's plan to effectively "privatise" the World Cup and the Club World Cup through a structure called FIFA Forward Enterprise has collapsed. UEFA was the first major federation to condemn the idea and threatened to boycott future World Cups if it were implemented. Following the plan's official failure, UEFA has signalled it intends to push further for structural reforms within FIFA.
