Hungary's Paks nuclear plant may shut down as drought lowers Danube
Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar announced that the Paks nuclear power plant could be shut down this weekend due to critically low water levels in the Danube river, which is hampering reactor cooling. Budapest authorities have pledged further measures to reduce the country's electricity consumption. Paks supplies a significant share of Hungary's power.
