Ceuta: 48,000 migrants returned to Morocco, 57 died crossing the border

More than 48,000 of the roughly 50,000 migrants who crossed into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta have returned to Morocco, Spanish officials said. At least 57 people died during the crisis. France and Italy tightened border controls, with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni suspending Schengen free movement between Spain and Italy. Human Rights Watch described the returns as chaotic and said exact figures remain unclear.
