Russian strike on Kyiv kills 9 — only one of 35 missiles shot down due to Patriot ammo shortage
Russia struck Kyiv overnight on 1 August with 35 ballistic missiles, killing at least nine people and wounding dozens more. Only one missile was intercepted due to a shortage of Patriot air-defence ammunition, President Zelensky announced on Saturday morning. The Lithuanian embassy was among the buildings damaged in the attack.
