Thousand-Year-Old Coin of Vladimir the Great Found in Novgorod the Great

Archaeologists in Novgorod the Great have uncovered an exceptionally rare silver coin of Prince Vladimir Svyatoslavich, known as Vladimir the Great. The find offers new insights into the reach of early Rus princes, the development of trade, and contacts between distant regions of the nascent state. The coin is considered a remarkably rich source of knowledge about the origins of Kievan Rus.
