US Treasury sanctions Iranian firms accepting Bitcoin for Hormuz passage fees

The US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has sanctioned two Iranian firms, including Hormuz Safe, for accepting Bitcoin and other digital assets as payment for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. The move marks another instance of Washington using sanctions to target crypto-enabled financing by restricted entities.
