US sanctions Iran-linked bitcoin insurance scheme for Strait of Hormuz ships

The US Treasury Department sanctioned the Hormuz Safe platform, which allegedly accepted bitcoin and other digital assets as insurance payments for ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Washington says the scheme was used to circumvent sanctions and was tied to IRGC-backed shipping operations.
