Japan earthquake death toll rises to 34 as rescuers search damaged mall

The death toll from a powerful earthquake in southwestern Japan has risen to 34, according to the Kumamoto prefectural government. Rescue teams are continuing to search a damaged shopping mall for survivors and additional victims.
