US to impose up to $20,000 visa bonds targeting mostly African nations

The United States will formally announce on Monday a requirement for visa bonds of up to $20,000, targeting applicants predominantly from African countries. The announcement coincides with the programme's permanent implementation. The measure is aimed at reducing the number of visa overstayers in the US.
