Google pulls AI satellite image editor from Google Earth after just one day
Google launched a feature in Google Earth allowing users to edit real satellite imagery using AI and text prompts, but pulled it within a day of release. Researchers quickly showed the tool could be used to create deepfake satellite images — for example, adding refugee camps near the Mexican border. Google removed the feature citing concerns about potential misuse.
