Iconic Soviet modernist terminal in Yerevan faces demolition

The terminal of Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan, considered one of the finest modernist buildings of the former Soviet Union, may soon be demolished. Armenian authorities are considering removing it from the heritage register, which would allow developers to tear it down. The terminal is widely regarded as an outstanding achievement of Soviet-era design.
