Mahershala Ali confirms he won't play Blade, blames Marvel

Mahershala Ali has confirmed to GQ magazine that he will not appear in Marvel's long-delayed Blade film, placing the blame squarely on the studio. He stated: "I signed a contract, they have billions of dollars — if they wanted to make this film, we would have made it." Marvel first announced the project with Ali in 2019, but it cycled through multiple directors and never began principal photography.
