Universal, Sony and Warner propose banning AI songs from music charts
The three major record labels — Universal Music Group, Sony Music and Warner Music Group — have jointly proposed that AI-generated songs be made ineligible for music chart rankings. The proposal goes further than an earlier RIAA initiative, which called only for mandatory labelling of AI tracks. The labels argue that AI-generated content undermines human artists and fair competition in the music industry.
