Mysterious beam drops in the LHC may be traces of dark matter

The Large Hadron Collider has long recorded sudden, unexplained drops in proton beam intensity nicknamed "UFOs." Two physicists from the University of British Columbia now suggest that some of these anomalies could be indirectly caused by dark matter particles, though the hypothesis still requires experimental verification.
