UK commits £8bn to four Dreadnought-class nuclear submarines

The UK government has tasked defence contractor BAE Systems with delivering four Dreadnought-class nuclear-powered submarines as part of Britain's nuclear deterrent. The contract is valued at £8 billion. The submarines will form the backbone of the UK's strategic nuclear capability.
