Antarctica hits -119.4°F at Concordia station – coldest in over a decade
The Concordia research station in Antarctica recorded a temperature of -119.4°F (-84.1°C), the lowest measured anywhere on Earth in more than a decade. The record cold arrived just weeks after a separate part of Antarctica experienced unprecedented winter warmth. The opposing extremes highlight growing climate anomalies on the southernmost continent.
