Ugandan opposition leader Besigye collapses in court, hospitalised in ICU

Kizza Besigye, Uganda's 70-year-old veteran opposition leader, collapsed in court and was taken to the ICU, his wife announced. He has been in detention since November 2024 on treason charges he denies. His deteriorating health has raised serious concern among his family and human rights advocates.
