Chrome may soon update without restart as AI finds bugs at record pace

Google says the number of bug fixes in Chrome releases has skyrocketed due to AI security models scanning the browser's code for vulnerabilities. Chrome 149 and Chrome 150 together contained 1,072 bug fixes — more than the previous 23 releases combined — with one flaw having hidden in the codebase for 13 years. Google is now working on a way to roll out these more frequent updates without requiring users to restart the browser.
