EU AI Act takes effect: fines up to €15m for violations

The first provisions of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act came into force on 2 August. The European Commission announced it will enforce transparency requirements, especially the mandatory labelling of AI-generated content, as stated by spokesman Thomas Regnier. AI providers that violate the rules face fines exceeding €15 million.
