Avalanche on Broad Peak: two victims identified, survival chances minimal

An avalanche struck an expedition on Broad Peak in the Karakoram range on Thursday around noon, sweeping away participants of a trip organised by agency Elite Exped. A search and rescue operation has been underway since morning, but media reports indicate that the chances of finding survivors are assessed as minimal. The identities of two victims have been confirmed.
