Polish Sejm passes banking law amendment giving KNF oversight of bank boards

Poland's Sejm passed an amendment to the Banking Law on Friday granting the Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) the power to approve the appointment of all bank management board members, not just presidents as was previously the case. The legislation now goes to the president for signature. The change significantly expands KNF's supervisory authority over Poland's banking sector.
