Asteroid 44 Nysa: triple-lobed structure with its own moon discovered by astronomers
Astronomers have identified asteroid 44 Nysa in the main asteroid belt as having a unique triple-lobed structure — appearing as three connected segments — and its own small natural satellite. It is the first known triple-bodied asteroid in the Solar System. The discovery could reshape scientific understanding of how small bodies in the Solar System form.
