At least 34 miners killed in coal mine explosion in Pakistan's Balochistan

A methane gas explosion struck a coal mine in Pakistan's Balochistan province at a depth of over a kilometre underground, killing at least 34 workers. Rescue teams searched through the night for two missing miners. The blast also damaged two adjacent mines. Mining accidents are frequent in Balochistan, Pakistan's poorest but resource-rich province.
