Montana's "right to try" law could give desperate patients access to untested drugs

Montana has passed a new "right to try" law that could allow terminally or seriously ill patients to access experimental drugs not yet approved for prescription. Kris DeVault hopes the law will help his son Brody, who was diagnosed with creatine transporter deficiency — a rare condition with no cure — and could benefit from a drug only tested in animals and healthy adults so far. DeVault acknowledges the drug may not work but wants the chance to try.
