Red alerts in 8 Polish regions: 36°C heat, storms and gusts up to 100 km/h

Poland's Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued red alerts for eight voivodeships as a hot air mass from southern Europe pushes temperatures up to 36°C. Storms with wind gusts of up to 100 km/h are also expected in parts of the country. The institute warns the heat poses a real health risk to residents.
