Childbirth in Serbia: women report loss of dignity and non-WHO practices

A months-long DW investigation found a striking pattern of negative experiences among women giving birth in Serbia, including widespread use of practices not universally recommended by the WHO. Women described a system under pressure in which dignity is routinely stripped away. The investigation points to systemic problems in Serbia's maternity care.
