Polish teachers leaving the profession en masse as demographic crisis hits schools

Sławomir Broniarz, president of the Polish Teachers' Union (ZNP), recalled that the union warned of a demographic crisis in schools as far back as 2011. He argued that future teachers must be prepared to teach more than one subject, and that dialogue with parents is essential ahead of planned school closures. Teachers are leaving the profession in large numbers, deepening the staffing crisis in Polish education.
