Only 28% of teachers want to stay in the profession, ZNP chief warns
Only 28% of teachers declare a wish to stay in the profession, according to ZNP (Polish Teachers' Union) president Sławomir Broniarz. He warned that teachers are already leaving their jobs whenever they get the chance, and called for debate on how to ensure teachers can work in a single school rather than being spread across a whole district. The crisis is compounded by Poland's ongoing demographic decline.
