Polish government moves to scrap penalties for payments to accounts off VAT whitelist

A draft law removing penalties for companies that pay invoices to bank accounts not on Poland's official VAT whitelist was referred on Thursday to parliamentary committees on Public Finance and Deregulation. Under current rules, firms face stiff financial sanctions for such transfers even when made in error. The proposed change aims to remove liability that often stems from mistakes rather than tax fraud.
