UEFA threatens World Cup boycott over FIFA private investor plan

UEFA announced that none of its national teams will participate in any FIFA competition for as long as the governing body's private investor proposal remains on the table. The European football federation demanded the plan be abandoned in its entirety and binding assurances given that FIFA will never again open its competitions to private ownership.
