Climate change made Spain's wildfires 20 times more likely, scientists say

Scientists from the World Weather Attribution consortium found that climate change made the extreme fire conditions at least 20 times more likely in Spain and at least twice as likely in France. Massive wildfires have been burning near Bordeaux and Madrid since the weekend, forcing mass evacuations and destroying hundreds of homes. The blazes, among the worst ever seen in both countries, spread rapidly due to prolonged drought, heat and wind.
