Crete Wildfire: 8,000 Evacuated, Three Firefighters Dead

A dangerous wildfire broke out on the Greek island of Crete on Wednesday night, forcing the evacuation of around 8,000 residents and tourists who were sheltered in temporary facilities. Three firefighters were killed fighting the blaze. One holidaymaker described the scene as "a volcano on a mountainside."
