A Super El Niño Could Trigger Extraordinary Global Climate Impacts
NOAA issued an El Niño advisory on June 11 after equatorial Pacific Ocean temperatures remained above average for several months. While El Niño events occur cyclically every two to seven years, the current one could be exceptionally strong. Scientists warn that a super El Niño could produce extraordinary climate impacts worldwide.
