Supermassive black hole winds reach 300,000 light-years beyond their host galaxies
Japanese researchers have found that winds generated by supermassive black holes can carry energy as far as 300,000 light-years — well beyond the boundaries of their host galaxies. The discovery shows that the influence of these cosmic objects on their surrounding environment is far greater than previously thought. The study was conducted by a team from Japanese universities.
