Red Cross Declares National Blood Supply Crisis — Less Than One Day of Type O+ Remaining
The American Red Cross declared only its second-ever national blood supply crisis on Monday, after donations fell to a four-year summer low. The 145-year-old organisation now holds less than one day's national supply of type O positive blood, the most commonly transfused blood type in the US. The Red Cross is urgently appealing for donations.
