Pentagon awards Lockheed Martin up to $58.6bn Patriot missile contract

The Pentagon announced that the US Army has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract worth up to $58.6 billion over seven years to produce Patriot interceptor missiles. Ongoing armed conflicts have rapidly depleted US weapons stockpiles, and Patriot missiles have become a scarce commodity sought by many countries, including Ukraine.
