EU launches bid for 7 AI gigafactories — Poland wants one

The European Commission has launched a call for applications to build seven AI gigafactories across the EU, aimed at providing Europe with its own infrastructure for training advanced AI models. The initiative is intended to boost EU economic competitiveness and reduce dependence on third countries. Poland is competing to host one of the facilities.
