EU Plans Seven AI Gigafactories to Boost Independence from Non-European Powers

The European Union has unveiled a plan to build seven new AI gigafactory sites across member states, to be funded through a combination of state and private capital. The goal is to hyperscale European AI capabilities and reduce dependence on non-European governments and providers. The initiative aims to strengthen the EU's technological sovereignty in the global AI race.
