Moldova declares 30-day alert over looming shortages of power, water and diesel

The Moldovan government has declared a 30-day state of alert amid serious shortages of fuel, energy and water. One in ten petrol stations in the country has already run out of diesel, while an exceptionally low water level in the Dniester river threatens drinking water supplies for a large part of Moldova. The crisis is hitting a country already struggling with a difficult energy situation.
