Amazon's Zoox cleared to charge for robotaxi rides in Las Vegas

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has granted Amazon-owned Zoox a temporary exemption allowing it to deploy up to 2,500 of its boxy, steering-wheel-less robotaxis annually for two years, with enhanced oversight. Zoox can now charge for rides in Las Vegas, marking a significant step for the autonomous vehicle company.
