US GDP slows to 1.5% in Q2 as Middle East war rattles energy prices
U.S. gross domestic product expanded at an annualised rate of 1.5% in the second quarter, slowing sharply from earlier in the year. The Bureau of Economic Analysis attributed part of the weakness to energy price shocks and supply chain disruptions triggered by the war in the Middle East.
