Comic-Con sting rescues 9 trafficking victims, nets 27 arrests

Operation Iron Justice, conducted July 22–24, targeted the demand for commercial sex that authorities say spikes during large events such as Comic-Con. The sting rescued nine human trafficking victims and led to 27 arrests. Law enforcement used the convention as an opportunity to crack down on exploitation tied to mass gatherings.
