Drone footage reveals devastation of Landes wildfire in southwest France

Drone footage captured on Wednesday (July 29) showed the scale of destruction left by wildfires near Le Temple in the Landes area west of Bordeaux, with charred land, burnt trees and the ruins of destroyed houses clearly visible. The blaze tore through 42,000 hectares of mainly pine forest, prompting the evacuation of around 220,000 holidaymakers and residents. About 60,000 people have since been allowed to return.
