Eurozone GDP beats forecasts — technical recession avoided again

Eurozone and EU GDP figures significantly exceeded economists' expectations. Following a revision of first-quarter data, the eurozone has once again avoided a so-called technical recession, defined as two consecutive quarters of negative growth.
